Simple Ways to Fight Stress
Everyday we always encounter a huge pile of physical and mental challenges, thus pushing us way out of our head and slows down our capacity to response to any demand in our surroundings, or what we call stress. Stress is a matter of how our body reacts to certain things or situation. Many of us tend to fight stress the hard way but if you look around your surroundings and yourself, there are very simple ways to fight stress.
Suprisingly, after reading some good health books, i've finally figure out how to fight stress in an easy manner.
First, start by your surroundings, nature is the best way to cope up with stress. You can either do this by just having a green places like garden or a small plant at home or work. In this way, it catches our attention and give us a mental break and we can release some of our bad feelings. Bernie Siegel, M.D., author of 101 Exercises for the Soul said, staring at blue things or place gives us an instant calmness because we human, naturally, love nature and blue is a color of great skies and serene oceans. This gives us a relaxing feeling when reminiscing some beach moments with friends and family.
Chewing gum effect can also fight stress. According to Mark Liponis, M.D., author of Ultralongevity: The Seven-Step Program for a Younger, Healthier You, rhythmic and repititive actions like chewing gum trigger our body's natural relaxation response, calming our heart rate, breathing and brain activity.
Clenching fist for five seconds can also give us an instant relaxation from stress this is because when our muscles tenses so much, it ables to de-tense completely, says Kenneth Pelletier, Ph.D., co-author of Stress Free for Good.
Try singing out, Lois Levy of Undress Your Stress: 30 Curiously Fun Ways to Take Off Tension explains in his book that when we sing, we're breathing deeply and this lowers the body's blood pressure and heart rate, thus giving us way to relax from stress.
There are a lot of ways to fight stress but in the end we are all responsible for every tension that we made to ourself as we respond to our daily challenges. Take time to give yourself a breath and give yourself an importance of life, in this way we can achieve a good healthy life.
